The Parkway Planning Process
The planning team is currently working on incorporating feedback from public and stakeholder engagement. Thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts at community meetings and through surveys and other materials. The Parkway Council and its city partners look forward to releasing the final conceptual plan for the Parkway's future in the coming months. $23.3 Million for the Parkway's Future
The Parkway Council congratulates the City of Philadelphia on its receipt of a $23.3 million Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for multimodal and infrastructural improvements to Eakins Oval and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. This transformative award will improve traffic safety and flow at Eakins Oval, enhance pedestrian and cyclist circulation, and create new public spaces along the Parkway. These efforts are essential first steps toward achieving the Parkway Council’s goal of transforming the Benjamin Franklin Parkway into a great urban park for all of Philadelphia and the greater region.

Open Call for
Art on the Parkway
The Parkway Council is again pleased to partner with the Association for Public Art (aPA) on Art on the Parkway, a juried open call that invites Philadelphia-area artists, designers, and other creatives to propose a temporary public art installation in Maja Park on the Parkway. The selected proposal will be installed on the Parkway as part of 2026 Oval summer festivities. Learn more about the competition, how to apply, and last year's installation here.
